Film Theory is a youtube channel created by Mathew Patrick (or "Matpat"), who is also responsible for creating the equally popular channel Game Theory. Both channels are devoted to applying real world application to video games, movies, tv shows, and youtube videos as well as figuring out lore surrounded by specific shows, games, and movies in a way that can be both informative and comedic.

3. Poppy's Hidden Conspiracy EXPOSED!

Poppy is pop star character that would be the result if Melanie Martinez melded with Britany Spears who gained a lot of her notoriety from her work on youtube, which consists of bizarrely themed music videos along with other shorter videos where she does stuff like repeat her name over and over again or talks to inanimate objects like a skull or plant, among other things. The film theory based on the character brings up the idea that Poppy is a product of the Illuminati created for profit, which is a popular theory that surrounds real life pop stars like Britany Spears. The evidence for this theory comes from the bizarre symbolism in her videos that is usually associated with the Illuminati like the eye of providence, the baphomet (a demonic goat), and the numbers 666. The theory playfully makes fun of Poppy's line of work while also providing some fascinating information about a group that is much talked about amongst conspiracy theorists.

2. Disney LIED to You! (High School Musical)

This theory dives into the popular Disney channel musical and sets to prove that the main antagonist in the is not in fact musical diva Sharpey Evans but instead popular basketball jock Troy Bolton. In Sharpey's defense, the character provided Troy with college and summer opportunities in order to win his affection as well as proved herself to be a hard working theatre girl as opposed to students who just sounded good as singers and showed up late to an audition. Contrastingly, Troy Bolton is rude to his friends and girlfriend Gabriella during the second movie and the theory claims Troy's father bought his way into the college of his choice rather than getting in on his basketball skill alone. The film theory is enjoyable due to it's nostalgic content and provides a different perspective to a classic Disney channel movie.

1. Exposing Deadpool's SECRET Identity

This is one of the more out there theories that was set to prove that the infamous X-Men antihero Deadpool is not in fact Wade Wilson, but author Ernest Hemingway within the comic book canon. As crazy as that sounds, the theory points out some interesting parallels between the character and real life author. Specifically, the theory points out that fact that both Hemingway and Deadpool were a part of a special division in the military during war, both are crazy good fighters, and both have a connection to Wolverine within the comic books as Hemingway and Wolverine served together during the Spanish Civil War. On top of that there is evidence that shows another character is the real Wade Wilson and Deadpool possibly stole his identity. The theory is completely crazy but does a great job of providing a compelling argument as to why this could be possible within comic book lore.

Film Theory can be create some incredibly bizarre content from time to time but never fail to present a compelling argument as to why a specific theory might be possible. With that in mind it's important to remember that they are just theories and not fact because they are essentially created for fun and to provide a different theory to beloved film in television.
